Remember when Thomas said he didn’t know if he’d ever speak to Ainge again after he was traded?
Belichick took over in 2000, and he’s built almost unprecedented success in New England with revolving-door pieces around quarterback Tom Brady. Five of his assistants in New England have become NFL coaches. It will be interesting to see whether this success continues when Belichick retires.
Total score: 10. Head coaches: 2 (Mike Sherman, Mike McCarthy). Winning percentage: .625 (4th). Playoff appearances: 13.
Quarterback success in the form of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers helps, and the Packers made eight straight playoff appearances under McCarthy and Rodgers until it was snapped here in 2017.

Thomas wasn’t in Boston for a long time, but you can tell he built a genuine connection with the city, organization, and its players. He may still be a bit sour about the trade, but that doesn’t change everything he did as a Celtic and those are times he won’t forget.
